The Bold Italic Events Page Disclosures
The Bold Italic is an independent media brand dedicated to telling the stories of San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. The Bold Italic operates as a not-for-profit enterprise and is fiscally sponsored by a 501(c)(3). Learn more about us.
Like any independent publisher, we maintain revenue-generating arms—most notably advertising—that help sustain our work. But we do not collect revenue on event listings when we know it is prohibited due to copyright, or other stipulations made by the organizer or promoter of the event.
About our events listings
Our events section exists to foster community and to help readers discover what’s happening across San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. To build it, we gather publicly available information about events from a range of sources around the web, and we link back to each event’s original listing so readers can find full details, buy tickets, and connect with organizers directly.
We do this deliberately and in good faith. The events section operates in service of community and reader information rather than as a profit center, and we therefore do not consider these actions to be a commercial activity. In this vein, and as stated above: we do not collect revenue from any individual listing unless we believe doing so is fully within our purview.

If you’re an organizer or a platform and you believe a listing should not appear on our website, we’re glad to review and remove it. Please email saul@thebolditalic.com.
